Biography

Lisa is presently a Ph.D. candidate in American Studies studying 19th century American medicine with a focus specifically the Harrisburg State Lunatic Hospital and Antebellum insanity. Prior to Michigan State, she earned her BA Summa Cum Laude in History and Women’s Studies from Temple University; her MA is in American Studies from Pennsylvania State University. Lisa is presently residing in Harrisburg, PA preparing for her upcoming comprehensives and working as a researcher for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania while also teaching as an adjunct professor of history for Messiah College in Grantham, PA.
